Peru Attracts US Investors with Sustainable Infrastructure and Mining Opportunities

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte met with US businesses and company representatives to discuss investment opportunities in the country. The businesspeople expressed interest in a variety of sectors, including digital government, health, logistics chains, commerce, infrastructure, and mining.

Peru emphasized its attractiveness as a mining investment destination, pointing to the country's high reserves and low production costs. Peru is home to a portfolio of more than 40 mining projects with a total investment value of over US$53 billion.

In addition to mining, Peru highlighted its interest in promoting investments in sustainable infrastructure. The government is boosting a National Infrastructure Plan that has identified more than 70 priority investment projects.

Some of the large infrastructure projects that were mentioned during the meeting include the Port of Chancay, the Ancon Industrial Park, the Callao Port Terminal, and the Jorge Chavez International Airport expansion. These projects represent an opportunity to invest in Peru and make the country a logistics hub for global trade.
