The Secretariat for Central American Economic Integration (SIECA) and the Central American Integration System (SICA) launched the second phase of the Central American Digital Trade Platform (PDCC), a tool that looks to streamline trade processes within and outside the region, facilitate paperwork and promote economic growth in Central American countries, Nicaragua among them.
The first phase of PDCC, launched in 2017, established a regional data system for foreign trade operations. The second phase, currently under development, focuses on defining guidelines and procedures for authorities and economic operators.
PDCC provides a centralized platform for managing trade transactions, eliminating the need for multiple interactions with various authorities. By simplifying procedures and exchanging information electronically, PDCC aims to significantly reduce clearance times for goods and services.
Also, by removing barriers and making trade more efficient, PDCC aims to increase regional trade volume, leading to economic growth and development.
Overall, PDCCmakes Central America and Nicaragua more competitive in the global market by simplifying compliance and reducing costs for businesses.
