By Vera Abogados

The Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) of Colombia granted an invention patent to UNIVERSIDAD EL BOSQUE for the development of a device for rapid, point-of-care diagnosis, designed for the optical detection of infection caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) in biological fluid samples. The device is characterized by its high sensitivity and portability.
The technological advancement, developed by inventor Sandra Janneth Perdomo Lara, provides a rapid, reproducible, and highly sensitive diagnosis, facilitating the detection of markers associated with HPV infection in various types of biological samples, such as saliva and cervical fluid.
Its primary application is in population screening and monitoring at healthcare centers, contributing to the early diagnosis and detection of HPV in patients.
