Colombia launches program to help Colombian companies expand into the U.S. market

ProColombia, the government agency that promotes Colombian exports, foreign investment and international tourism, has joined forces with Amazon to support Colombian businesses looking to enter the United States market through e-commerce. The initiative aims to provide training and personalized assistance to 30 Colombian companies in its first phase.
The program will run from May 19 to June 30, culminating in the publication of participating companies' products on Amazon’s U.S. platform. Its primary goal is to equip small and medium-sized enterprises with the tools they need to make their debut on the international stage through digital sales channels.
By participating, Colombian companies gain access to:
-A marketplace where third-party sellers reportedly sell an average of 8,600 items per minute.
-The chance to reach buyers in categories such as health, beauty, home goods, grocery, and fashion—among the top-performing sectors on the platform.
-Tools to expand internationally without needing to establish a physical presence abroad.
ProColombia highlighted this initiative as a practical step toward helping Colombian exporters adapt to the global shift toward e-commerce and increase the visibility of their products in key international markets. Its broader purpose remains focused on facilitating digital transformation and global growth opportunities for Colombian enterprises.
