Dominican Exports Promotion Tool Recognized Internationally for Trade Innovation

ProInteligencia, an innovative market intelligence system developed by the Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana), was recognized at the World Trade Promotion Organizations Awards 2024 in the category of Best Use of Information Technology.
ProInteligencia was the runner-up, with Switzerland Global Enterprise (SGE) taking the top spot. SGE is a Swiss government-supported organization that promotes international trade and investment.
The winners were selected – by their peers – for their contributions to the increase in small business exports and job creation in their economies. The 2024 competition received a record number of applications from trade promotion and investment organizations with women in leadership roles.
The World Trade Promotion Awards are organized by the International Trade Centre (ITC) to recognize outstanding initiatives and achievements in trade promotion. These awards celebrate the efforts of organizations and individuals who help businesses, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), engage in international trade.
The awards aim to showcase innovative practices and effective strategies in trade promotion that enhance the competitiveness of businesses and support sustainable economic development.
ProInteligencia is an interdisciplinary, multisectoral, and cross-cutting platform, composed of specialized tools in international trade and foreign direct investment (FDI). This tool was entirely developed with the main goal of boosting and strengthening exports and attracting FDI, contributing to the growth and internationalization of the Dominican economy, while also promoting innovation in governance.
It integrates four tools: Data Market, which provides statistics on trade flows and FDI; Market Access, which facilitates the consultation of requirements to enter international markets; Trade Alerts, which offers real-time information on opportunities and market changes; and FDI Alerts, which provides updates on trends and opportunities in foreign investment.
