Film In Peru

By Espinosa Bellido Abogados

The Commission for the Promotion of Peruvian Exports and Tourism (PROMPERU), presented the Film In Peru strategy to position the country in the international cinematographic sector.

The strategy aims to get more national and international production companies interested in making their films, short films, series and documentaries in Peru, creating new attractions and rediscovering places, cities and regions. This is in order to continue promoting the national tourism offer.

"Movie fans are more active in sharing their travel experiences on social media and have the highest rate of post-visit recommendations than average visitors," said Walter Vizarreta, executive president of PROMPERU. “Peru has incredible scenery, dreamlike landscapes, as well as a variety of microclimates that are ideal for any production”, he added.

As soon as a production company comes and accepts the challenge, PROMPERU starts coordinating with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Culture, Transport and Communications and the regional governments to provide all the logistical facilities for filming, as well as the respective support.
