3M announces opening of a Center for Innovation and Development for Industry
After serving 50 years of operation in our country, the manufacturing company 3M announced that it will open a Center for Innovation and Development for Industry in Chorrillos, where products and applications will be developed along with medium and small entrepreneurs for their customers.

In order to expand operations in Peru and encourage research in technology, the company will invest U$ 4 million in the facilities of 2,500 m2, between laboratories and research centers themselves.

Dario Lareu, CEO of 3M for the Andean region, thanked the deference of the headquarters of Peru have chosen for the location of the center, as well as health care, security and communications in the country will develop.

In the ceremony of laying the first stone, HC Shin, executive vice president of International Operations 3M worldwide, said it spent more than US$ 15,000 million in research and development over the past ten years.

Meanwhile, premier René Cornejo noted the 6.1% average growth of the Peruvian economy and the investment of S /. 200 million Concytec innovation initiatives.

"Last year, there was a record 27.3 % investment of GDP, U$ 56,000 million in mostly private investment. That sounds good, but poses new challenges : go for the two pillars of growth, investment and productivity gains. To do this, we must invest in people to continue on the path of economic growth", explained Cornejo.
