A Country Brand, priority for the Guatemalan government
In a private public forum held in the National Palace of Culture, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales stressed the need to generate better investments and more tourism for the country.

"As a country it is very important to consider our tourism potential”, the president said in a statement provided by the Presidency, where he added that "the route to follow is to establish a Country Brand" part of the Tourism Master Plan promoted in 2016 and in charge of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (Inguat). Morales explained that the Country Brand aims to "generate better investments in the country and new global alliances”.

The president also highlighted the promotion of tourism as a "priority" for his administration, a reason why Inguat has “worked hard” in the implementation of national and international plans that positively impact tourism. He mentioned as evidence of that work the mobilization of more than 3 million domestic and foreign tourists during Holy Week.
