A golden opportunity to beef up foreign investment in Nicaragua
The German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the Latin America Association (LAV) carried out in Berlin the 16th edition of the Latin America Initiative of German Business, an activity created to improve the overall image of the region in Germany and to safeguard and improve the position of German business, especially that of medium-sized enterprises.

While working towards strengthening commercial relations between Germany and all Latin-American countries, the event offered an ideal platform for the Nicaraguan Embassy in Germany, which took advantage to promote German investments in the country. DIHK represents more than 400 German companies interested in the Latin American and Caribbean market, as well as more than 140 chambers of commerce, making it a golden opportunity to boost foreign investment in Nicaragua.

"Nicaragua offers a wide range of opportunities for German companies where they can invest: raw materials, agriculture innovation and vocational education, among others”, stated Nicaraguan ambassador in Germany, Karla Beteta. "The government of Nicaragua recognizes the positive impact of direct foreign investment, so we actively and openly promote it for the benefit of Nicaraguans”, she added.

Beteta showcased the experience of two German companies successfully working in Nicaragua while in totally different industries: chocolate company Ritter Sport, which in 2017 launched a national brand for Nicaraguan cocoa (Cacao de Nicaragua), and the Dräxlmaier Group, an international automotive supplier with a fabric in the city of Masaya.
