Access and make more effective use of patents

The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru and the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property (IPI) launched a virtual course on patent search and Intellectual Property commercialization.The course is aimed for members of the Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC), a program of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) which helps countries to access and make more effective use of patent information, scientific and technical literature and search tools and databases, thus boosting their IP capacity. It promotes innovation, technology transfer, commercialization and utilization of technologies.
This new initiative is also part of the Peruvian-Swiss Intellectual Property Project (PESIPRO), which aims to strengthen the use of selected intellectual property rights in Peru in order to contribute to higher competitiveness, enable further added value of Peruvian products, and to have an overall positive impact on Peruvian economic development.
Throughout the years PESIPRO has provide advice to Peruvian SMEs, increasing their awareness of the use of patent protection, and increasing the number of patent applications from the private sector.
