Agreement of understanding to enforce IP in Peru
The National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru, and the International Trademark Association (INTA), signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to set future cooperation between the two institutions.

The memorandum was signed by Indecopi´s president Herbert Eduardo Tassano Velaochaga and INTA’s chief executive Etienne Sanz de Acedo. It seeks joint action between the two institutions in order to strengthen public policies regarding the protection, through trademarks registration, of intellectual property in the business sector.

The agreement also establishes exchange of information, experiences and educational materials carried out through study sessions and seminars about trademark registration and other related areas of interest.

Sanz de Acedo thanked the readiness of the Indecopi "to sign such an important document that will support the Peruvian business community so that they can effectively protect their brands".
