Agribusiness growth in 2018

Regarding the entry of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the sector, they had a positive impact on the increase in the international price of commodities, the adequate business climate and the notorious comparative advantage of Uruguay in the production of intensive goods in the use of the earth.
FDI in the sector amounted to US $ 4,150 million in the period 2002-2017. The agricultural sector was the one that received the greatest investments, especially for the incorporation of technology in the production of grains, being that some of the largest grain traders in the world are installed in the country (ADM, Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus , COFCO, among others).
