Aguará: The First Electric Car Made in Paraguay
By Rocío Lubian, Berkemeyer Attorneys & Counselors

The main purpose of this project is to encourage and promote the use of the electric energy, specifically in vehicles. This is due to the fact that Paraguay has a surplus of electric energy, but lacks of oil, which it must purchase from other countries.
The use of clean energy cars is stagnant because Paraguay does not have transmissions. We also need distribution lines and adequate infrastructure in order to count with fast charging stations or charging spots at certain points of the city.
Electric vehicles can be recharged using an outlet, from home or offices. Certain reforms are necessary such as installing fast charging totems. These devices are quite similar to parking meters and are called electric stations.
Installation would represent minor work for ANDE (Paraguayan National Administration of Electricity) and will improve the profits from energy sales instead of spending money on the purchase of fuel oil.
The benefits for electric car owners are abundant. These are; 1.) no need for filter change, oil change or any other traditional service required by a conventional car; 2.) Electric car do not make any noise, or have emissions.
So be friendly with the environment and get yourself an Aguará!
