AIPPI’s First Regional IP Moot Court Competition Concludes in Guatemala
By Mayora IP

We are proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement of our associate, Mariana Murillo Møklebust, whose team earned first place in the inaugural AIPPI Regional IP Moot Court Competition for attorneys in Central America and the Caribbean, organized in collaboration with CRECIG.
This accomplishment reflects not only her dedication and advocacy skills, but also the high level of expertise and professional excellence that our attorneys bring to their work every day.
We are equally proud that our partner, Santiago Mayora, conceived and created this pioneering competition together with Paola Castro, both as current members of the Board of Directors of AIPPI’s Regional Group for Central America and the Caribbean. The initiative was designed to strengthen practical IP advocacy skills and foster meaningful collaboration among professionals throughout the region.
Congratulations to our associate and her team on this remarkable achievement—and to everyone helping this regional initiative continue to grow!
The competition gives attorneys the opportunity to argue intellectual property cases in a simulated courtroom setting. Participants must analyze legal issues, develop persuasive arguments, and present their cases before a panel of judges, putting their knowledge of IP law and procedural advocacy skills to the test. The format allows attorneys to practice the kind of legal reasoning and oral advocacy required in real-world intellectual property disputes.
