By Estudio Chaloupka
The National Agency for the Promotion of Research, Technological Development and Innovation of Argentina provided support to local company Galhaar SAS for the design and commercialization of a safe intubation system. The system consists of a new video laryngoscope and an isolation barrier, developed to make the orotracheal intubation easier and safer. The project was selected in the framework of a COVID-19 innovation competition.COVID-19 patients who require respiratory assistance pose a risk to the health team that attends them and therefore the new development is a contribution to minimize the risks of contagion at the time of intubation.
Galhaar is a startup focused on developing tech solutions to the issues medicine faces. “This development implies a strengthening in the capacity of the health system to respond to the pandemic,” the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) stated.
