Argentinian wineries teams up with FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona, one of the most accomplished and popular soccer clubs in the world, will sell a brand of wines in Argentina following an agreement reached by the Spanish club with the Federation of Argentine Cooperatives (Fecovita), the largest network of wine industry cooperatives in Latin America. "FC Barcelona was looking to develop its brand in South America and decided to chose our company”, said Franco Lubrano, manager of the Estancia Mendoza Winery, one of the members of Fecovita.

The agreement is for a two-year contract with a third year option. In the first twelve months 200,000 bottles are expected to be produced, all of them high-end wines that range in the USD 25 price.

FC Barcelona stars Argentinian Lionel Messi, widely considered as the best soccer player in the world for the last decade. The club is ranked Nº 2 in the latest Forbes list of soccer teams valuations, and in March 2017 it has unveiled plans to develop an innovation hub to work with leading brands and generate a positive impact on society beyond the realm of sport.
