Avocados commercial expansion and brand certification, a goal for Nicaraguan producers
Nicaraguan avocado producers will start a tour in Spain, the United States and Canada to promote the potential of the fruit in new countries, El Nuevo Diario reported. The initiative is carried on by Nicaragua’s Cooperative of Avocado Producers (Coopranic, for its Spanish acronym). "Our expectation is to extend our markets because we have been working only in Central America”, said Coopranic’s president Octavio Ambrogi.

In such goal, Nicaraguan producers will also begun production of the Hass variety of avocado, a cultivar with dark green-colored, bumpy skin which thanks to its taste, size, shelf-life and high growing yield, year-round harvesting has become the most commercially popular avocado worldwide.

In addition to the commercial expansion, Coopranic also seek to obtain brand certifications for the avocado, to highlight the quality advantages that the Nicaraguan product has compared to its competitors.

Avocado halves are perfect natural containers for appetizers, lunches, or light dinners. Seafood salad, curried chicken, or fresh fruit salad are just a few great fillers. Avocado slices, cubes, or balls make great salad additions. The most popular use for avocados is guacamole, a mixture of avocado, onion, tomatoes, and other ingredients. Guacamole can be used as a dip for chips or vegetables, a garnish for Mexican dishes, or a spread for sandwiches and burgers.
