Blockchain technology to protect copyright of journalists works

The NEM.io Foundation is dedicated to the promotion of an ecosystem of users and developers of the NEM blockchain technology, a peer-to-peer cryptocurrency and blockchain platform. In December 2018, the foundation signed an agreement with the Press and Communication Union of the province of Córdoba, Argentina (CISPREN, for its Spanish acronym), to design a software that improves the copyright protection of journalistic works.

Blockchain like NEM can introduce transparency in matters of copyright ownership chain, mitigate risks of online piracy by enabling control over digital copy and facilitate fair compensation of authors by means of cryptocurrency payments and smart contracts.
