Boconó coffee

The Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property (SAPI) of Venezuela granted the first Geographical Indication (GI) of coffee in the country to producers from Boconó, located the state of Trujillo.
The IG Café Boconó was granted to producers from the Oro Verde (Asover) and Café de la Montaña (Cafemsa) associations.
Boconó is a municipality located southeast of Trujillo characterized by its mountains and rivers. Its coffee has a good genetic which influences the quality of the product and makes it unique in its flavor. The soil of Boconó stands out because of its capacity to produce more citric coffee reminiscent of lime, tangerine and peach.
