Bolivia, closer to implementing the Time Release Study

With the participation of 10 Customs officials, the main outcome of this activity was the review and adjustment of the business process maps and questionnaires, as well as initial preparations for the pilot programme to be carried out in April 2023.
The World Customs Organization (WCO) carried out a two-day mission for the Customs Administration of Bolivia implementation of the Time Release Study (TRS) in the country.
With the participation of 10 Customs officials, the main outcome of this activity was the review and adjustment of the business process maps and questionnaires, as well as initial preparations for the pilot programme to be carried out in April 2023. Furthermore, the WCO experts reinforced the participants’ understanding of the WCO tools and guidelines.
With the results of this mission, the Customs Administration of Bolivia has completed the steps towards implementing the TRS, and has secured the optimal instruments to deliver accurate results during the study.
Since 2020 Bolivia has been highly engaged in implementing the TRS as part of the national efforts to foster economic development, enhancing the investment climate and national competitiveness.
The WCO Time Release Study is a strategic and internationally recognized tool to measure the actual time required for the release and/or clearance of goods, from the time of arrival until the physical release of cargo, with a view to finding bottlenecks in the trade flow process and taking necessary measures to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of border procedures.
