Central America contingency plan to face COVID-19

Honduras holds during this semester the pro tempore presidency of the regional integration body and the presidents of Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, as well as the deputy prime minister of Belize and representatives of the organizations attached to SICA, participated in a tele-conference meeting on Thursday.
The regional contingency project addresses the aspects to prevent, contain and treat COVID-19 and other diseases. The declaration by the heads of State and Government establishes to guarantee the supply of medicines, medical devices, raw materials and other supplies to prevent, contain and treat COVID-19 and other rapidly spreading diseases.
The declaration calls to guarantee the fluidity of international trade operations within the framework of the regulations in force and in close coordination with the customs, health, and immigration authorities, in order to avoid a negative impact on the Central American economy.
