Coffee, meat and gold lead Nicaraguan exports
By Guy José Bendaña-Guerrero & Asociados

The United States is the main market for Nicaraguan exports, with 38 percent, followed by El Salvador (10 percent), Costa Rica (5 percent), Venezuela (5 percent), Guatemala (4 percent) and Honduras (2 percent). Venezuela, which had been the second trade partner of Nicaragua since the relations between the two countries strengthened in 2007, has suffered a fall as a result of its social and economic crisis.
