Coffee of El Salvador: exceptional quality for the world

The Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG), officially launched the event "Coffee of El Salvador: Exceptional Quality for the World. 2016 Business Contest", with the aim of keeping the country as a top option of specialty coffee in international markets.

The event was held at the International Center for Fairs and Conventions of San Salvador, and had the participation of tasters and juries from the United States, Japan, Germany, England, Netherlands, China Taiwan, Mexico and Guatemala.

Its part of a new strategy for the positioning of El Salvador high quality coffee, providing marketing, a space for national and international businesses, and a direct approach between producers and buyers. It also seeks to promote the culture of high quality production through mechanisms that encourage local producers. Coffee production in El Salvador has traditionally provided many of the country's export revenues, being a key contributor for its economy.

"Coffee of El Salvador: Exceptional Quality for the World. 2016 Business Contest" had the support of government institutions, non-governmental organizations, development institutions, international investors, and the coffee industry, associations of specialty coffees and international personalities.
