Cooperative Patent Classification symbols are published for the first time
By Becerril, Coca & Becerril, S.C.

In June 2015 Mexico joined the CPC, a bilateral system designed for efficient searching which has been jointly developed by the European Patent Office and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mexico already is part of the International Patent Classification, used primarily to classify and search patent documents, run by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
The CPC is based on the IPC and consists of all IPC symbols, a main trunk of CPC symbols and a 2000 series of indexing codes for additional information.
