Court dismisses patent claim against the Central Bank of Costa Rica

A Civil and Administrative Court of Costa Rica dismissed a patent infringement lawsuit filed by an American technology company against the Central Bank of Costa Rica (BCR).On September 2022, Intellect Solutions Inc. accused the BCR of breaching a 2018 contract and using its technologies to develop a mobile banking service.
The Court considered that the platform used by the BCR does not uses nor depends on the components previously provided by Intellect Solutions, but are rather fully new and modern solutions worked with a new technology provider.
Intellect Solutions designs, develops and integrates information assurance and program management support services to different government agencies throughout the world.
