Cup of Excellence 2017

The Cup of Excellence aims to select the best coffees produced throughout Nicaraguan to project them along international markets.
"We expect all coffee zones and producers of Nicaragua to participate", said Carlos José Bendaña, president of ACEN. The department that has participated the most in the event is Las Segovias, located in north Nicaragua. "However in zones like Matagalpa and Jinotega there is very good coffee and we are calling these producers to come and submit their samples", added Bendaña.
The first stage of the XIV Cup of Excellence started on December 15 and 16 with the selection of the tasters that form the national jury. On March 10 and 11 all coffee samples will be received and 150 will be selected. The final 40 samples will be selected after that, and finally an international jury will decide the winners.
