Dairy company sanctioned for misleading advertising
The National Institute for Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru, fined dairy company Gloria with over USD 450,000 for misleading advertising in its products Bella Holandesa, Bonlé and Gloria.

According to El Comercio newspaper, the complaint against Gloria was made by the civil association "More than Consumers", which accused the company of unfair competition and false advertising for promoting three dairy products as "lactose free" when It was not the case.

As Indecopi´s resolution was appealed by Gloria, the process could "take up to a year", said Crisólogo Cáceres, president of the Peruvian Association of Consumers.
