Deployment and adoption of advanced technologies in El Salvador

By Eproint

The Development Bank of Latin America (CAF) presented the key actions it has taken in El Salvador and Latin America to promote digital transformation. CAF has been supporting the deployment and adoption of advanced technologies incorporating IoT, M2M and artificial intelligence. Throughout 2022, CAF approved a total of USD 14.09 billion to fund development initiatives in Latin American and Caribbean countries.

These funds targeted economic revival and the productive and financial sector, and focused, among others, on energy, transport and telecommunications, water and sanitation, environment and climate change, education and digitalization infrastructures.

During 2022, El Salvador became full member of CAF, which will allow the country to access new financial tools and instruments, technical assistance and knowledge generation for the public and private sectors. On December, 2022, CAF approved an operation that includes equipment and training in technology and innovation.
