Developing franchises in El Salvador
Thirteen Salvadoran companies are participating in a program that looks to expand franchises throughout the country and Central America. The National Franchise Program (PNF) is carried out by El Salvador’s Exporters Corporation (Coexport), consulting company Front Consulting and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

“The franchise Initiative is a business model based on the traditional franchising concept common in developed countries, to promote income generation for selected enterprises”, the USAID explained in a press release. “Through education, job training, and partnerships with the private sector, USAID is increasing opportunities for youth to obtain jobs and income in El Salvador. Furthermore, USAID assistance is working to improve the investment and business climate to stimulate trade, small business growth and employment”, it adds.

The thirteen companies that have embarked on the ambitious project are: Vitto's Pizza, Ferretería Lemus, Farmacia Las Américas, Pollo Campestre, Pan Santa Eduvigis, Quesos de Oriente, Viktor Sports, Café La Casona, Sorbetes San Julián, Hotel Villa Serena and restaurants China In, Acajutla and Cadejo.

The goal of all the companies is to franchise their brands in the local market, and in the short term jump to new markets, especially in the Central American region.
