Digital entrepreneurship, a key for Honduras progress

The meeting, which was held in Tegucigalpa, was organized with the aim of informing Honduran digital entrepreneurs of a new law on the matter, which was designed to develop, promote, encourage and protect creative industries and innovative knowledge and digital entrepreneurship.
Likewise, that Honduran digital entrepreneurs know the innovations that the creative industries bring, the excellence in education that they promote, and their use in digital ventures.
“In recent years we have entered the era of the knowledge economy, where intellectual work has begun to replace much of the physical work and intellectual property is much more worthy than the physical goods,” Midence stated. The Commissioner explained that the law seeks to generate economic and non-economic incentives, “so that creators can carry out their work leaning 100 percent on information technology,” he added.
The law stipulates other academic, extracurricular and professional incentives such as the National Award for Academic Merit.
"Times advance and nations become part of globalization. In Honduras, companies that seek specialized labor have already been established, and many of these jobs are closely linked to the use of technology, capable of uniting an employer in United States with an employee in Honduras,” Midence said.
