Digital Signature Law regulated by Decree

“The creation of a climate of trust in the digital environment is essential for economic and social development, so it is convenient to strengthen such trust in all electronic transactions in our country to achieve secure electronic interactions between citizens, businesses and the Public Administration”, states the Decree, which affirms the need of “consequently increase the digital economy” with the provision of public and private online services and electronic commerce.
In November 2018, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) presented a document reviewing the digital government of Argentina, analyzing key findings resulting from a series of activities carried-out by the OECD Secretariat in Buenos Aires. The document states that while the work on the digital signature and eID will help enable digital service delivery, “there is still need to undertake major harmonisation work within the government in order to enable inter-operability and the development of shared services”.
