洪都拉斯正在实施一项尖端数字工具，旨在优化全国基本药物的规划和分配，从而加强其医疗创新生态系统。该倡议由洪都拉斯卫生部牵头，并且由泛美卫生组织/世界卫生组织（PAHO/WHO）提供技术支持。
该项目的核心是增强现有的药品和用品物流管理信息系统（SALMI），该系统旨在更高效地管理药品库存和物流。新工具整合了数据分析以及来自全国各地区域卫生部门和二级医疗机构的参与性意见，构建了一个全面动态的系统，用于预测和满足普通药物的实际需求。
这项技术的一个关键特性是能够分析历史消费数据和未满足的需求，使卫生官员能够就采购和分配做出更准确、更基于证据的决策。通过这种方式，该系统旨在最大限度地减少缺货和浪费，确保基本药物的持续供应，并且最终改善洪都拉斯的全民健康覆盖。
