2025年8月22日，国际知识产权保护协会（AIPPI）中美洲和加勒比地区小组的成立文件在危地马拉正式签署，标志着该区域平台正式制度化进程的重要里程碑。
此次正式签署赋予了自2013年以来一直在推进的这一进程以法律和象征意义。自此之后，该小组迅速成为该地区知识产权、创新、监管和经济发展领域利益相关方的重要论坛。
国际知识产权保护协会（AIPPI）是一个全球性的非营利组织，专注于知识产权、执法、政策和创新。其使命是促进均衡有效的知识产权保护，并且促进知识产权专家、政府、产业和民间社会之间的合作。
中美洲和加勒比地区小组致力于根据该地区的具体情况调整AIPPI的任务，将中美洲和加勒比地区的成员国聚集在一起，共同应对知识产权领域共同面临的挑战和机遇。
