El Salvador IP office resumes activity

The El Salvador IP office (CNR) has resumed daily operations, although with limited employees. Online services are also available, while the suspension of administrative terms and deadlines has been lifted since June 16, 2020.El Salvador has begun to re-open its economy on June 16, 2020, following weeks of a strict lockdown meant to contain the coronavirus. The process of bringing back the economy will be gradual and pass through several stages, with the airport not restoring operations until August 6, 2020.
Despite the COVID-19 economic obstacles, El Salvador has harvested over 7 million tonnes of sugarcane this year, according to the Salvadoran Council of the Sugar Agro-Industry (CONSAA). The figure is up from 6.7 million tonnes last year.
Sales of sugar to new Asian markets have enabled the sector to weather the uneven impacts of the pandemic.
