El Salvador strengthens its IP policies through international agreement

The National IP Offices of El Salvador and Peru signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen the use and respect of intellectual property. Within the framework of the agreement both institutions (CNR and Indecopi) will implement joint policies that strengthen the work of promoting and respecting intellectual property for the benefit of Salvadoran and Peruvian creators and inventors.

In addition, the two offices will train professionals in matters related to the examination of trademark patent applications. In this regard, they will foster inter-institutional collaboration to increase the exchange of information, allowing examiners for a better search of international databases.

Both entities will also undertake the exchange of legislative contents and administrative rulings.
