El Salvador’s coffee country brand relaunched

By Eproint

The new Café de El Salvador brand has been launched by the Government of El Salvador, through the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG) and the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC).

The resurgence of the country brand responds to the commitment to reactivate local coffee growing through international investment and fund-based projects. Café de El Salvador intends to position itself in local and foreign markets, while creating awareness about how coffee growing is essential for the country’s economy and sustainable development.

Among the most recent actions is the approval of a USD 640 million trust for the rescue of coffee growing, which will give a real solution to an intense problem.

El Salvador has an ideal geography and climate to harvest the varieties of coffee Bourbon, Pacas, Pacamara, Catimor, Catuaí, Catisic, Caturra and Cuscatleco. Salvadoran coffee is preferred worldwide for its sweetness, versatility and high quality, both in consumption and in international competitions, where many baristas use the coffee to prepare their drinks. The grain stands out in countries such as Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Japan and the United States, among others.
