More than 300 women entrepreneurs took part in the “Creative and Innovative Woman 2026” competition in Nicaragua, an initiative aimed at recognizing and supporting female-led business projects across the country. The event, held in Managua, brought together participants involved in sectors such as crafts, small-scale manufacturing, and innovative business development.
The competition recognized local entrepreneur Lilliam Merlo, founder of the project Dulcería López Merlo, which focuses on traditional confectionery products. Her initiative was highlighted as an example of how small businesses led by women can combine local traditions with entrepreneurial innovation.
Organized with the participation of Chinese institutions, the program reflects a broader trend of cooperation between China and countries in Latin America aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and economic development. Such initiatives often include training programs, business competitions, and networking opportunities designed to help small enterprises gain visibility and access to resources.
