Famous and well-known marks in El Salvador
The Mexican company Manufacturera 3M, S.A. de C.V., filed a trademark application for 3M & Design, to cover goods in Class 19. 3M Company Based in the U.S.A., opposed the registration on the basis of its trademark 3M, which is notorious and famous worldwide. The Intellectual Property Department admitted the opposition, and the applicant appealed.

The National Bureau of Registries confirmed the admission of the opposition, holding that 3M was a famous mark from the United States and not Mexico.
