Favorable climate for startups in Uruguay

Uruguay ranks fourth in South America in The Global Startup Index Report 2021, annually developed by StartupBlink (Israel), which classifies the startup ecosystems of 1,000 cities and 100 countries and represents the main source of information for hundreds of thousands of responsible entrepreneurs in making smart decisions about where to locate or relocate their startups.It is also ranked 51st in the international ranking of startup ecosystems and 50th in the e-commerce, technology, and retail sectors. The report underscores the government's support for the tech startup ecosystem, multilingual and skilled talent, a convenient time zone for doing business with global markets, and a strong cultural affinity with developed economies.
The country's advantages are also a sophisticated telecommunications infrastructure, a society familiar with digitalization, and excellent benefits and tax incentives.
