Ferraiuoli Secures U.S. Patent for Filled Brioche Heating Device

Puerto Rico-based law firm Ferraiuoli has successfully prosecuted a U.S. patent on behalf of its client, Spanish company INBROOLL INDUSTRIES, S.L. The patent, titled "Device for Heating Filled Brioches," was granted patent number 12,667,220 by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), with official publication set for June 30, 2026. Ferraiuoli's intellectual property group congratulated INBROOLL INDUSTRIES on the achievement.
What the Device Does
The invention is a specialized piece of commercial kitchen equipment for making filled brioches — small, spherical, filled pastries commonly found in gelato and pastry shops, typically filled with a frozen substance like ice cream. Structurally, it resembles a waffle iron: a hinged upper and lower half that clamp shut around the dough to bake it, while trying to keep the frozen filling from melting too quickly or leaking out during the process.
Who's Behind It
The patent's applicant, INBROOLL INDUSTRIES, S.L., is a Spanish company, consistent with Spain and Italy's strong presence in the commercial gelato and pastry equipment industry. Ferraiuoli served as U.S. patent counsel, prosecuting the application through the USPTO to secure protection for the invention in the U.S. market.
