Food, beverages, textiles and electronics celebrate Peru spot in the World Cup
Peru´s qualification to the final stage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia will have an approximate 1% impact on its gross domestic product (GDP), according to projections made by Arellano Marketing Multiclientes Studies. Arnaldo Aguirre, manager of the consulting firm, stated to newspaper El Peruano that the qualification will generate business opportunities for various industries, mainly foods, beverages, textiles and electrical appliances.

This week, South Korean multinational LG announced that it plans to sell in Peru 1.7 million units of televisions for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. "This type of sporting events create an acceleration in sales for the TV industry. That is why we are working together with retailers to give our customers the best products", said Mariano Rabanal, sales director of Consumer Electronics of LG Peru.

On 15 November, the Peruvian soccer national team beat New Zealand 2-0 in Lima to win a two-leg playoff and earn the 32nd and last spot in the World Cup field in Russia, to take place from 14 June to 15 July 2018.

As it does with all its member associations, FIFA has already informed the Peruvian Football Federation that it will take all necessary measures to protect in Peru its intellectual property related to the World Cup (such as FIFA, World Cup 2018, Russia 2018, designs and copyright as subsisting in works such as the official poster, emblem, mascot and look artworks), as it is obliged to take action against any unauthorized reproduction of its marks in a commercial context.
