Fostering United States Investment into Peru

By Espinosa Bellido Abogados

Representatives of various United States government agencies met virtually with leaders of Peruvian Government and private sectors, with the purpose of promoting and fostering U.S. investment into the South American country.

State news agency Andina reported that U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires John McNamara highlighted the sound commercial relationship between both countries, consolidated since the Trade Promotion Agreement -signed in 2006- came into force in 2009.

McNamara underscored the importance of this collaboration, which has eliminated tariffs on more than 90% of U.S. exports to Peru, strengthening intellectual property protections and providing a safe legal framework for investors.
