3M and King Law Center, Chartered have resolved the legal action 3M initiated in federal district court in Orlando, Florida. The litigation has been amicably resolved through a mutually beneficial agreement, and the lawsuit has been dismissed with prejudice.3M and Ignite Capital Partners, Institutional Financial Sales LLC, and Auta Lopes have also settled a legal action filed in Tallahassee Florida federal district court.
Both lawsuits were related to trademark infringement complaints, as 3M claimed the companies were confusing and deceiving buyers by falsely associating theirselves with 3M’s N95 respirator.
Since January, 3M has doubled the global production of N95 respirators to 1.100 million, including the manufacturing facilities in the United States, Asia and Europe. 3M will double its capacity to 2 thousand million per year in the next 12 months.
While increasing production, 3M is also experiencing more counterfeiting and fraudulent activities related with 3M products, specially N95 respirators. “3M does not sell products directly on web pages or through social networks. In case it is necessary, we recommend consulting availability of 3M products, solely through our authorized distributors,” the company stated in a press release.
