Guatemala creates a promotion agency

Named “Organic Law of the Guatemalan Institute for Trade Promotion, Competitiveness, Investment, Country Brand and Market Intelligence”, the project was prepared taking into account similar Latin American agency models from Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica and Mexico.
ProGuatemala will be formed by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, the General Secretary of Planning of the Presidency and the Guatemalan Tourism Institute. 30 percent of the Ministry of Economy budget will be allocated to the agency, plus additional percentages from the private funds ProGuatemala will generate with its services.
