Guatemala increases commerce with the United States
Guatemala increased to USD 10,313 million its imports between January and July, a 7.6% growth compared to the same period last year, an official source said today. Close to half of them, a 40.2%, came from the United States, followed by Central American markets (USD 1,183.3 million) Mexico (USD 1,086.8 million) and Taiwan (USD 1,085.1 million).

According to the Bank of Guatemala, the increase in imports was influenced mainly by the positive variation observed in fuels and lubricants, with a rise of USD 347.3 million, and raw materials for the industry, with a rise of USD 205.4 million.

Last year Guatemala imported products totaling USD 17,002.6 million.
