Honduran government executes national operation against counterfeiting
The Special Prosecutor for Intellectual Property and Information Security (Feprosi, for its Spanish acronym) and the Technical Agency for Criminal Investigation (Atic, for its Spanish acronym) carried out a national operation against counterfeiting in various cities of the country, including Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, La Paz, Olancho, Santa Barbara, Nacaome, Ocotepeque and El Paraíso, among others.

The operation, called Archimedes, was conducted on November 22, 2018, and is part of a government effort to attack people and companies who infringe intellectual property laws and to warn Hondurans about the risk of using counterfeit products. Among the seized products were mainly clothes, foods and medicines.

"The Honduran people are warned about the care they must take when using these and other products, since it has been detected that they are produced illegally, and therefore are beyond the control of the manufacturers and the State”, the Feprosi stated in a press release.
