The system is expected to be completed by 2020, allowing users to reduce time and costs by filing trademark applications online, in the same way in which the main IP offices of the world have already done it.
"We are in the process of migrating all our information. We have 117 years of information that we are digitizing”, said Bendeck, who indicated that the system to be established will be the Industrial Property Administration System (IPAS), a business system provided by the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) program of assistance. A generic, workflow-based and highly customizable system, IPAS supports all the major business processes of an IP office, including reception, classification, examination, publication, notifications, registration and digitization of all documentation.
