INPI now has a new president

Luiz Otávio Pimentel has taken over the position of President of the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), according to a publication in the Official Federal Gazette on July 28, 2015.With a doctorate in Law, Pimentel has experience in the field of Law and Public Policy , in particular in the area of International Law of Trade and Intellectual Property, practicing mainly in the following areas: public management, industrial property, innovation, biotechnology transfer and international law. He is an associate professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC) and a lecturer at the Academy of Intellectual Property, Innovation and Development at INPI itself, in addition to being an Ad Hoc arbitrator at the Mercosul Arbitration Court.
