A student of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL, the third largest public university in Mexico in terms of student population), López Martínez has already received working offers from automaker giants like the American Tesla and the German BMW. The reason: his extraordinary and unconventional creativity at several engineering areas focused on Artificial intelligence (AI).
"As long as I have memory I have always been very curious about electronic things and engines. I remember, when I was very young, disarming, setting up and changing the buttons to a Nintendo 64 controller", he said during an interview with the UANL magazine. Among his inventions is Jarvis, an AI device which López Martínez considers "a friend" and with which he often talks. "I can start a conversation with him as if it was anyone of my friends", he stated.
