Armour Pharmaceutical Company registered trademark GAMMAR in 1977 to protect pharmaceuticals in International Class 5. Unfortunately, the registration lapsed and in 1986 the local company Gamma Laboratorios S.A. de C.V. registered GAMMA in the same class. In 1999. Armour Pharmaceutical Company again field to register GAMMAR for goods in International Class 5 , but the National Bureau of Registries, on appeal, confirmed the denial of the Intellectual Property Department to admit the application due to the similarity of GAMMAR and GAMMA.
